Beetle Bluffs is being shown as part of the eight day 7th Annual Imagine Science Film Festival. This year's festival explores the theme of 'TIME,' including time-lapse, evolution, aging, development, time travel, and geologic time. Beetle Bluffs will join six other shorts for the "Time Travelogues" screening.

A solo adaptation of Theory of Flight will be presented as part of an after-conference program of the 2014 European Society for Evolutionary Developmental Biology conference in Vienna. The performance will be held at the KLI Institute, an international center for advanced studies in theoretical biology. The institute supports the articulation, analysis, and integration of biological theories and the exploration of their wider scientific and cultural significance. Conference and non-conference attendees are welcome. Anna gives a guest lecture on the integration of biology and art and the production of creative work for planetariums for the "Art and Science Immersive Media Course" taught by Nita Sturiale at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. 

Anna Lindemann gives a guest lecture entitled "Evo Devo Art: Integrating Art, Biology, and Technology" at the University of Utah Department of Art and Art History. 

"Anna Lindemann on Storytelling and Science," an interview by Emma Komlos-Hrobsky for the Tin House literary magazine blog explores how Theory of Flight plays with the intersection of science and fiction, and touches upon the objective versus the subjective, butterfly wings, and the inspiration of Borges.

Following performances of Theory of Flight at the Ho Tung Visualization Lab & Planetarium at Colgate University, Anna Lindemann gives a talk as part of the Art & Art History Department's lecture series discussing the creation of this fantasia of avian obsession and the integration of biology and art within the performance.

A solo version of Theory of Flight is presented as part of a line up of noteworthy scientists and artists pondering the aesthetics of evolution. This All-Day Wonder Cabinet is guest curated by David Rothenberg whose recent book Survival of the Beautiful (Bloomsbury, 2011) investigates art, science, and evolution. Many of the protagonists he encountered in writing his book will join him on stage at the Cantor Film Center to debate the question of whether nature's beauty is actual, imaginary, useful, excessive, or perhaps even entirely beside the point. Laurie Anderson, Suzanne Anker, Philip Ball, Vitaly Komar, David Soldier, Jaron Lanier, and Richard Prum are among the many presenters. Events are free and open to the public. The Survival of the Beautiful All-Day Wonder Cabinet is presented by the New York Institute of the Humanities and is made possible by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

The Natural History at Noon lecture series at the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, NY presents a solo version of Theory of Flight.

Bird Brain will be screened at the opening night party and salon for the 2011 MATA festival. The festival was deemed to be a "vibrant celebration of young composers" by the New York Times (April 15, 2010). The 2011 MATA Festival will feature works by twenty young composers.

Theory of Flight premieres at the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center in Troy, NY.  Dreams of flight, animations of molecular processes made from yarn and buttons and lace, bird songs and molecular music intersect in this scientific and emotional pursuit of human flight. Music, story, and animation by Anna Lindemann. Performed by soprano Lucy Fitz Gibbon as the bird spirit and Anna Lindemann as scientist Alida Kear. Directed by Emma Lunbeck with costumes by Kylin Mettler. The performance is followed by a "Flying Feast" concocted by Ellie Markovitch and Rose Mitchell—a multi-taste experience inspired by the avian world.

"Four Fantastical Metamorphosing Creatures," a stop motion animation created by kids in a five week workshop led by Anna Lindemann, is screened as part of a youth media festival featuring voices of youth active in more than nine organizations across New York state.

A performance of eclectic sounds and visuals bringing together Anna Lindemann's work Bird Brain for ensemble, electronics and animation, and N F Chase's Ngoma Lungundu for multi-channel electronics and environmental video projection.
