WARBURG VISITING ARTIST

In 2020, Anna Lindemann served as The Ellie Warburg Class of 1945 Visiting Artist at The Foote School, an independent K-9 school in New Haven, CT.

As the Warburg Visiting Artist, Anna presented three school assemblies about her creative work integrating art and science (one for grades K-2, one for grades 3-5, and one for grades 6-9). Anna also led 12 workshops for 5th and 6th graders in which they conceived of and narrated their own collaborative origin stories, and depicted their stories through stop motion animation. Students created the characters and backgrounds for their animations in their art classes taught by Art Chair Karla Matheny, Art Educator Mike Goldschneider, and Art Associate Emily Alderman.

The resulting 24 short animations form the compilation “Biodiversity Origins.”
